Jeremy Tuggle completed his internship near his hometown of Palm Coast, Florida, at the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office. As an intern, he saw nearly every facet of the agency and was also able to observe other organizations that work in collaboration with the sheriff’s office. Jeremy most appreciated the opportunity to accompany deputies on patrol. Another highlight was riding in the agency’s air boat during coastal surveillance.
“I have learned a lot about myself and have been able to see everything I learned as a student played out in the real world. My experiences varied weekly, from things like working with firefighters and EMS; being in dispatch, the jail, and the courthouse; collaborating with other agencies such as Florida Highway Patrol and Florida Wildlife Commission; and working with the homeland security department. There is no substitute for the experiences gained during a full-semester internship.”
