Dr. Stephanie Schmitt is an Assistant Professor of Political Science specializing in American political behavior and public policy. She earned her PhD in Political Science at the University of Iowa in 2026 and her BA in Political Science from the University of Las Vegas, Nevada, in 2020. She studies American elections, focusing on race/ethnic politics, political behavior, and the impact of election law on minority voters. Her research has appeared in the Journal of Race, Ethnicity, and Politics and The Millbank Quarterly.
