Course Summary: Criminal Justice in North Carolina is a 3-credit course (can be used as a CJ required elective or free elective) that will explore the specific agencies and functions in the criminal justice system in our state. During the first week of course meetings, we will discuss legislation, policies and operations specific to our state. The second week of class will include overnight travel to Raleigh and day trips to other cities in the state. We plan to visit county district attorney and defense attorney offices, prison and jail facilities, State Bureau of Investigation, and an Innocence Project.
Estimated Cost: $250 (lodging and travel costs) plus meals
