Dr. Robert Eskridge

Dr. Bob Eskridge came to Appalachian State in 2012. He earned a B.S. in Accounting from Oklahoma State University, a Master in Public Administration from Texas Tech University, and a PhD. In Public Policy and Administration from Mississippi State University. His areas of teaching and research focus on local government, management, and budgeting. Prior to coming to Appalachian State Dr. Eskridge spent over 20 years in Texas as a local government manager and four years in South Africa working as an advisor to the South African National Treasury, assisting local governments implement national policies surrounding new budgeting and financial reporting policies. Dr. Eskridge’s recent publications have appeared in Public Integrity, Public Budgeting, Accounting, and Financial Reporting, Public Management, and Public Administration Research. Recently, he and Dr. Kathryn Webb Farley received a grant award to study what attracts and retains women city managers in the United States.
